Story One : A Resident’s Voice

Before the library opened on campus, the girls had to walk a long way to reach a place to study. The road was not always safe, and the journey took time they could not spare, so they would turn back early, before they had finished what they came for. Now the library sits steps away from their rooms. The library, set up through the Foundation’s contribution, has returned to these girls something simple but precious: the hours of the day they once lost to the road.

“All the girls can study properly now. The environment here is good. We hope it opens fully soon, because our exams are coming and we want to give them our best.”

Story Two : A Resident’s Voice

She begins by thanking the teachers, officials, and members who made the library possible, and then explains, almost methodically, what the library has changed for the girls at her hostel.

Some of her hostel-mates cannot afford fees for outside study spaces. The library on their own campus is free, and that alone has changed what is possible for them. The hostel itself is full of children and rarely quiet; the library has given them, for the first time, a space where the noise stops at the door. For girls who want to study online alongside their books, there is Wi-Fi. For everyone, there is a place to sit comfortably, for as long as they need.

“A library nearby gives dreams their shape. Every page that opens opens a new path. In what words can I thank you? You have given us so much that even thinking of these gifts opens the path for some dreams to come true.”

Story Three : A Resident’s Voice

She speaks for her fellow students at the campus, where studying once meant a daily journey away to find a place quiet enough to read. The travel cost time. It also cost money the girls did not always have.

The library she speaks of houses 482 books, 150 reading seats, and 12 computer workstations. It is now a permanent part of campus life, set up through the Foundation’s support of the girls at Jamdoli.

“With a free library opening here on our campus, we will save both time and money. We can also study late into the night now. The quiet environment will help us continue our studies without disturbance. For students like us, this library is a very big step toward a brighter future.”
